My Approach
No system with a trademark symbol. One belief everything hangs off of.
What I have is a way of seeing people, a lot of years running companies and raising kids, and one belief that everything else hangs off of.
The goal is your best self. Not happiness.
Most people say they want to be happy. I get it. But happiness is a mood, and moods come and go. Chasing it is like chasing the weather. Being your best self is different. It's an outcome you control. Nobody hands it to you and nobody can take it away. If you're going to point your life at one thing, point it at that.
First we figure out who that is.
Here's the part most people skip. You can't be your best self if you don't know what it looks like. I have a knack for seeing what someone is capable of before they see it. The talent they wave off. The strength they think is a flaw. The thing they do easily that other people find hard. We name it, then we build on it. Refine what you already have. Dig up what's hidden.
Then we deal with what's in the way.
Jealousy. Fear. Envy. Anger. Apathy. These feelings are normal, and they wreck your best self. So do the stories you keep replaying about the past. I know these feelings from the inside, not from a textbook. My job is to help you spot what triggers them, reframe the conflict underneath, and turn it into something you can actually manage. Not erase it. Manage it. There's a difference, and the difference is everything.
Yesterday doesn't get a vote.
The past matters. It teaches you, shapes you, and sometimes explains exactly why you keep ending up in the same place. But it doesn't get to make today's decision. We take what it can teach us, then ask the question that actually moves something: what can you do today? Belief and a growth mindset aren't posters on a wall. They're a daily decision, and I'll hold you to it.
We have the hard conversations.
With your business partner. Your boss. Your team. Your spouse. Your parents. Your friend who's draining you. The conversation you've been avoiding is usually the exact thing standing between you and the next level. I'll help you prepare for it, and I'll be honest about whether you're actually ready to have it or just talking about it.
Risk, but the measured kind.
I've bet everything on myself more than once. I don't recommend it as a lifestyle. What I do recommend is calculated risk. Know what you're risking, know what you're gaining, and know why. Sometimes you have to move mountains and realign your whole life to hit the highest peaks. Sometimes you just need to make one phone call. We'll figure out which.
Mind and body are one thing.
How you sleep, eat, move, and take care of yourself shows up in every room you walk into. It changes the confidence you project and the confidence you feel. I'm not your trainer or your doctor. I will absolutely ask about it, though. You can't be your best self on four hours of sleep and a bag of chips. I've tried.
I feel what you feel. Then I keep perspective.
This is the trait that defines me more than any other. When you tell me what's going on, I feel it on a deep level. That creates trust fast, and trust is what opens people up to hear the truth. But you don't need me lost in the problem with you. You need me close enough to understand it and far enough away to see it clearly. I'll tell you the truth. I can be blunt in a nice way, and if you need to be called out, I'll do it because I care, not to prove a point.
Business or personal, same person, same approach.
If you're a founder, executive, or team leader, we work on the specific stuff. The decision you can't make. The organizational issue nobody wants to name. The hire, the exit, the culture that isn't working. I've built teams from scratch, sold companies, sat on boards, and coached entry-level people into the C-suite. I'll be your sounding board and your second set of eyes.
If it's personal, we work on the specific stuff too. The rut. The relationship. The version of yourself you keep putting off. Turns out the tools are the same, because the person at the desk is the same person at the kitchen table.
What I won't do.
I won't tell you what you want to hear. I won't pretend to be a guru. I won't let you hide behind being busy. And I won't promise this guarantees success in your business, your relationships, or your bank account. Being your best self doesn't guarantee anything. It puts you in position. What you do from there is up to you.
At a glance
Andrew Kolidas's coaching approach rests on one belief: your best self is an outcome you control. He uses no trademarked framework or workbook. The work covers identifying who your best self is, managing the emotions that get in the way, focusing on today rather than yesterday, having hard conversations, taking measured risks, and the mind-body connection. The same approach applies to business and personal clients, in person or virtually, nationwide.
